It only takes one log to create a log Jam

by

…But many logs need to be cleared to restore flow again.

We get constipated as we journey through life. A laxative may cure the gastric constipation that we sometimes get – but the emotionally and spiritually constipation are much like log jams.  They are bloody hard to clear up.

An idea gets embedded in your consciousness and this is the start of the blockage. Different things pile on top of it and soon there is a log jam so complicated that it is a huge task to unravel the problem.

if he wins you loseI saw a sign the other day that said “If He wins , you lose”. It is a cleverly crafted message that has no substance. But the win/lose idea is a typical ‘log’ that can stop our lives from functioning with a clear flow of logic.

Do you remember the last argument you had with someone (it just happens to be your spouse usually)? Remember how you just had to get the last word in – because whoever gets the last word in wins the argument.

In the process of unravelling this problem of an argument, we find that:

  • The last word did not decide the winner of the argument;
  • The last word probably had nothing to do with what the argument was about;
  • The topic of the argument was not what the argument was about;
  • The argument was just a front for some other issues that are lurking around;
  • The argument did not solve any problems;
  • No one actually won or lost the argument;
  • In the ‘big picture’ – the argument does not matter.

Yet the idea that an argument is the solution to a problem and that we had to win it – gets created in our heads. And it becomes the mantra for running our lives. It causes that massive build-up of shit and we have no idea how it started or how to clear it up…..

What if there is an emotional laxative that we can take?

What if you took the win/lose out of the equation when you go into an argument? It becomes a totally new ball game. I find that I get more creative and fun when I go into an argument that I do not have to win and that I cannot lose. There is no log jam – just a smooth flow of creative juices…
