Sagan pinch at flanders2

I watched the finish of the Tour of Flanders on SBS and I certainly did not see Peter Sagan pinch the podium girl’s bottom…

There is no doubt that Peter Sagan is a youthful, cheeky kind of guy who is gifted in the cycling department. He had just come second in a gruelling race where he cracked under the pressure of a superior rider on the day. So, instead of being on the receiving end of the twin pecks from the podium girls, he had to look at the back of one of them. It seemed that given the situation, he couldn’t resist what the Italians had taught him to do – a pinch on the cheek.

  • Peter Sagan was just having a bit of fun – that is just the way he is, no malice intended;
  • The podium girl felt a squeeze;
  • The photographer who captured the moment considered himself lucky;
  • Fabian Cancellara has no idea what happened. He was on a high after his win;
  • A journalist saw a story;
  • The champions for women’s rights were enraged;
  • Cycling management had a situation
  • …and all I did was marvel at the superb ride that Cancellara entertained us with

One thing is for certain, not everyone will agree with what happened. People just don’t see EYE to EYE.

A recent “scientific’ survey of our stars (pop) revealed that “ideal” couples preferred to be of differing heights. Have you ever tried seeing eye to eye with someone who is not level with you? It is no wonder that couples never see eye to eye!

The concept of being able to see eye to eye with someone else was doomed from the start. Apparently, the origin of”… this expression can be found in Isaiah 52:8. Imagine two people side by side watching the same thing. Since they have the same view in mind and they are eye to eye, they will probably agree on what they are both experiencing.” – Wiki Answers

The episode with Peter Sagan proves that even if two of you are standing side by side watching the events unfold, your experiences will not agree with each other.

“Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” will always prevail over “Seeing eye to eye”. That is life.
